Traverse City Film Festival![]()
For the past three years, I have been the technology director for the Traverse City Film Festival. This ever-expanding role has included planning and implementing the Festival box office, coordinating connectivity, supporting all the Festival operations. I've also been preparing and managing all the pre-film content. The Festival has quickly become the top summer event in Traverse City, and the year-round operation of the State Theatre is improving the progress towards a more active downtown nightlife.
Old Town Playhouse![]()
The Old Town Playhouse is the premiere place for stage entertainment in the Traverse City area. Some productions of which I've been a part include The Rocky Horror Show, The Full Monty, Hay Fever, Cabaret, Into the Woods, and the 2006/2007/2008 Black & White Galas, the annual summer fundraiser.
Traverse Community Television
Since its creation, I've been involved with our local public access television station, tctv2. Anyone who is a resident of a participating township can produce and air programming at no cost. Its future is in motion, at the moment. You can find out more at the Friends of TV2 site.
Traverse Community WiFi
Several years ago, I co-founded a small operation to place wi-fi around Traverse City in areas where it would benefit the public. The mission was to both encourage businesses to provide internet access to customers themselves, and serve as a stop-gap until technology offers more effective ways to get online anywhere.
